To be completely honest? Ideally, we wouldn't sell any plastic at all. However, unfortunately, there is not yet a (good) alternative available everywhere without plastic. In our assortment, you will find disposables made of different types of plastic, which we have listed below. Some of our cardboard disposables also have a thin plastic (PE or PLA) coating, making them grease- and leak-proof. Plastic (PET)

PET stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate, and we all know it as "regular" plastic. Although there are clear disadvantages to using plastic, there are also several advantages. Plastic remains in good condition for a long time, it is lightweight, and compared to products made of other materials, it is often cheaper to produce. Please note: Plastic (containing) products are becoming more expensive due to new regulations. Below, you can read more about these so-called SUP guidelines. Recycled plastic (rPET)

In addition to disposables made of PET, we also sell products made of rPET: recycled plastic. This gives waste a second life. The use of rPET leads to lower energy consumption, lower costs, and less environmental impact. View all the products in our assortment made of rPET here.

Polylactic Acid (PLA)

PLA is a biodegradable plastic derived from crops such as corn and sugarcane. Polyactide or polylactic acid is the name for thermoplastic polymers of lactic acid. These are often referred to as PLA, derived from the English term polylactic acid. One advantage of this material is that it is biodegradable. The difference from "traditional" plastic lies in the raw material.

The use of PLA disposables has several advantages. One of the most important is that it is compostable; the products break down under industrial composting conditions. It is therefore important to sort and collect it correctly.

Plastic-containing disposables and SUP guidelines

The SUP guidelines include a package of measures to reduce the share of plastic in litter. The first measures were implemented on July 3, 2021. This included a ban on, among other things, plastic plates, straws, and stirrers. Gradually, new measures are being added.
